All of this rang true in so many ways, like listening to a perfect piece of music. Incredible timing too. I finished my manuscript in October and I’ve been laboring through my rewriting and revision plans for 2025. I now feel far better equipped to build a better plan. Sincere thanks for sharing this. I finished a draft of the third book for my series this year hoping to publish it but it wound up being longer than the first two so, I will spend some more time editing it - perhaps a spring release - plans are always good!

When started working on our book Aesthetic Nomads, Reinhilde, my wife, suggested I'd write more than just the preface and the vignettes that go with every episode. I told her that if I'd fall back in love with writing, she'd hate me for it.

That she'd be jealous.

Because I know that writing is a mistress that robs you of your mind, your time, and your means.

I'm starting to collect info for a family novel in the new year. I'll be obsessed by it. I will offend the people I'll write about. I will neglect my wife.

Which brings me to the 10th point: A Thick Skin

Brilliant motivation and encouragement to not let the words escape being written. Thank you.

100% true. Writers need time to write, time to observe and time to revise.
