Hello, I’d love to read something about - or even some of - the WIP the writer is working on at the moment. Fiction, nonfiction, what genre, how’s it going, how far in is he? Is it his first book or his 15th? This could even form a second strand of (or a nested story within) the Diary.
Also more about Leigh. Mouse is in it more than she is :)
I agree with Katy’s point. I wouldn’t want you to edit content but an occasional addendum re ongoing work at time of diary writing would ground the state of play between internal concerns/ conflicts at play and what the outside world would have consumed with the barriers up.
Mouse has become a mindset link, thought punctuation, an essential anchor. However Leigh deserves her privacy, else any future writing/sleeping might be in the shed. It’s a line in the sand.
Qn - How difficult is it to release these entries now, some of which are very raw? Think you must have been holding back some out of necessity, else crippling. Isn’t it almost impossible to put personal pain into words without wrapping in a character? If you’ve found a key to the release mechanism do share or just a nod to the black dog, waiting.
Re legacy, epitaph/ eulogy, I think that over time nothing matters other than to be loved by the children you’ve raised and the people who counted on you. There are no other accolades.
